The problem with Trump is that his first, last and only concern is the glory of Donald Trump. While narcissism has characterised various politicians in different advanced countries over the years, it has not been their only identifiable motive, as it is with him.
He is more like a tin pot dictator in some jungle republic than a democratically elected leader. Unfortunately too many Americans think that would be a good thing. It's what happened in Russia with Putin.

His popularity is lower, nationally than nearly all the other Republican candidates. That's the point. He has zero chance of being elected, which was the aim all along. There were republicans who were more popular than Hillary and would have beat her. Not after Trump ran amok. Just as Bernie dragged Hillary to the left, so Trump dragged the republicans closer to his on-the-hoof outrage.
Trump is the best thing to happen to Hillary's campaign since voting irregularities hampered Sanders.
By the way, Sanders is the outsider of all of them. Not beholden to corporations, independent senator. Of course he is a Red Sea pedestrian so that probably rules him out for you.

I don't have a "pin up boy". I don't think Trump would herald a new age of peace and love, but he'd sure as hell come closer to it than that war monger Clinton.
He is NOT establishment because he is able to fully fund his own campaign, and is not beholden to any special interests.
As POTUS he would be able to make all the decisions himself. That's why 'the powers that shouldn't be' are in such a KERFUFFLE over his popularity.
They'd rather block him now, than have to arrange for him to take an open top limousine ride in Dallas after he was elected.

Point being, if you think he's an outsider, you are a bit of an imbecile. He's as inside as they come, and was close friends with the Clintons up until a couple of weeks before he declared his candidacy.

Donald Trump is the most establishment out of the lot with the possible exception of Hillary. He has bought and sold politicians of all hues for years (including Hillary), and up until a couple of weeks before he decided to D̶e̶s̶t̶r̶o̶y̶ run for the Republican nomination he was very close friends with both Hillary and Bill.
